Exhibitors to NFE and other exhibitions around the globe have been sent a letter regarding a listing in an exhibitions directory.

The letter is from the Exhibitions Directory for Fairs and Exhibitions and is from Mexico.

The letter expains that you can amend your free information online, but should you complete and sign the order form enclosed with the letter, you will be charged €1271 per year for 3 years. We STRONGLY recommend that you do NOT sign any document.

Whilst we cannot stop the company sending out information, our recommendation is that you have no contact whatsoever with them.

Successful launch of new products from Funeral Products at TanExpo.

The TanExpo is one of the world’s largest funeral fairs with more than 200 exhibitors and 17,000 visitors from 54 countries. At this fair, the latest developments and innovations are presented.

Funeral Products was here to present her new collection and for this occasion Funeral Products had designed a completely new stand.

NFE 2015 dates announced

We have now confirmed the 2015 NFE dates. The show will run from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June at Stoneleigh. We even have the theme planned, but we are keeping that under wraps until 2013.

TanExpo – new products

There were some great new ideas at TanExpo, including a beautiful coffin with removable hearts that friends and relations can take away as a memento and leave a message of condolence in their place. You can find more details here

The Italian angels

Two beautiful ladies were promoting photo frames at the show and our intrepid photographer couldnt miss an opportunity to get a picture. It turned out that one of them, living in Milan was direct from London. Gor blimey Gov, you cant go anywhere these days without bumping into a Brit!

Clowning about in TanExpo

The NFE stand at TanExpo continued our Circus theme for the 2013 show and featured our very own clown, Kimberley Hyde. At first, our Italian friends were a little bemused but soon got into the spirit of things by having their photograph taken wearing a big red nose. By the end of the show we’d filled half a wall with pictures of visitors from all over the world.

NAFD president Andrew Pargetter and his wife Anne didn’t escape from the lens of our photographer…

We’ve just got back from, what was to me, the best TanExpo ever. It was busy (5% up on last year), exciting and vibrant. TanExpo isnt just an Italian show, its a truly international exhibition bringing in suppliers and visitors from all over Europe and beyond. We will be putting up much more information and pictures over the next few days and there will be a full report in the May edition of Funeral Director Monthly. The organisers deserve massive credit for a superbly run show.

We’re just getting ready to fly out to TanExpo to promote next year’s NFE. There’s quite a few Brits going over, including a number of people who have never been before. This is my fourth visit and I always enjoy this vibrant, business minded show. How the Italians will take to our clown we’ve yet to find out, but expect to see plenty of pictures on this blog as soon as we return.

Do you QR?

You’ve probably seen these funny little signs everywhere and, like me, have only a vague idea what they are about. Well I’ve just downloaded a QR reader onto my phone and started testing them. When you scan the image it will give you access to all sorts of information. It can provide a link to a website, phone number, email address, google map or even just a message.

Visitors to a trade show can instantly scan in information about an exhibitor or find a list of good eating places in the area or train times or a taxi number or, well just about anything. there are plenty of sites on the internet where you can make a QR code for free.

Spreading the word

I have yet another funeral to attend next week for an aunt who died at 87. Most of my relatives reach a ripe old age, in fact my mother in law, God bless her, is now enjoying a whole new lease of life after a hip replacement at 92!

Whenever a friend or relative dies I always do a bit of P.R., suggesting that the bereaved might wish to look for the security of the NAFD logo. Next week’s funeral is being conducted by an NAFD member who ticks all the boxes, he attended the NFE back last June as well.
