We’ve got all the plans made for our Big Saturday Evening event and if you’re not there you’ll be square – (yes – people actually used to say that!) Well, not long to go now! April is turning out to be a mammoth month for us. As well as the usual day-to-day running of the company, I have been concentrating on putting the final touches to our stand design for the show. I must say I am looking forward to NFE weekend very [...] CEO of the NAFD, Alan Slater, was recently summoned to Downing Street. Could it be that they were are asking advice on the economy? Slater replied “You may think that, I couldn’t possibly comment” As we get closer to the show, Visitor registrations are pouring in through the letter box and through email. The website registration saves paper, which saves trees which helps to save the planet. There’s a few suprizes to be found on the Bereavement Register stand at this year’s show but Emma Hilton, the stand coordinator, is keeping quiet about it. Come on Emma, spill the beans! Most of you know the Rev Paul Sinclair from Motorcycle Funerals but you may not have met his wife Marian. She’ll be spending some time at the show helping Paul while he takes visitors for a ride around the showground on one of his magnificent motorcycle hearses. Not the one in the picture of [...] For the last hour of each day at this year’s show, our piano bar will offer visitors and exhibitors a chance to sing their favourite tune in exchange for a glass of wine. Our resident pianist can accompany just about anything and anyone and we know there’s a lot of talent in the funeral sector. [...] Batesville Caskets are reviewing their worldwide expenditure, including, marketing, trade shows, and other expenditure and will not be showing at this year’s exhibition. In a short statement issued by Sean Smith, general manager and director of the British subsidiary, the company says, “In lieu of the current world-wide economic climate, we have decided not to [...] Yesterday, we booked another 4 stands at the show and that takes the total number of exhibitors to over 130. Things are moving so fast that I haven’t even had time to update the exhibitor list.
